Evaluation of disintegrability, biodegradability and reusability

  • Tests to evaluate the disintegrability of packaging under composting conditions as per ISO 20200, as part of the UNE EN ISO 13432 standard for compostable packaging under industrial composting conditions.
  • Screening of the aerobic biodegradability of bioplastics and composites under aerobic conditions as per ISO 14855 (mesophilic conditions and industrial composting conditions (58ºC)).
  • Screening of the biodegradability of bioplastic materials in seawater.
  • Evaluation of the disintegrability and degradation rate of plastic materials exposed to marine environment under laboratory conditions (ISO 23832).
  • Validation for reuse of biodegradable or compostable materials in catering utensils (UNE EN 12875-1 and 2).

This test determines the validity of this type of material in utensils in contact with foodstuffs.
